How to Get a Gun License in Ontario
Getting a firearms licence (PAL) in Ontario follows a few clear steps:
- Complete the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) for non-restricted firearms, or both CFSC and CRFSC if you want a restricted licence for handguns.
- Pass the written and practical exams included in each course.
- Submit your PAL application to the RCMP Canadian Firearms Program, including your course certificates.
- Wait for background checks and licence approval, which typically takes several weeks.
- Add hunting privileges by completing the Ontario Hunter Education Program (OHEP) if you plan to hunt.
