Time Commitment: 1 Day class, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm followed by the exam
This class is the foundation of all firearms, with the focus being nonrestricted firearms (ordinary hunting shotguns and rifles and muzzleloaders). Participants in this program typically attend for the following reasons: hunting, recreational or competitive shooting such as trap and skeet, collecting, inheriting, or as a prerequisite for employment purposes.
This class is designed to teach you everything you need to know to pass the Written Test (pass is 40 correct out of 50 questions) and Practical Test (where the student is asked to demonstrate their practical knowledge of responsible firearms and ammunition ownership, handling, and storage).
This class typically takes between 8.5 -10 hours of hands-on practical training, discussion, and multimedia presentation.
